Stand Builder Qualifications
Trade fair fitters need to have skills in many disciplines. The are manifold tasks to be done.
Setting up the rigg
Usually stand building starts by assembling the light truss, mounting and wiring the spotlights, the speakers if necesssary, and attaching banners. Genies or motor wire rope hoists are used to lift the truss under the ceiling. Connecting the electric wires is an event technician’s job.
Floor Layer
Next, you need to put your flooring skills to use. In most cases, a double floor made of chipboard is laid, with power outlets for electrical and network cabling for exhibits integrated into it. Click laminate or carpet is then laid on top. Depending on the size of the stand, completing the floor can be a time-consuming and labor-intensive task.
Exhibition stand construction
Trade fair stands are usually constructed from elements of a trade fair stand system. There are Octanorm, Syma, beMatrix, and many other stand structures developed by exhibition stand construction companies themselves. The exhibition system stand is constructed according to detailed stand plans and, depending on the size of the stand, is a task for an entire exhibition stand construction team. The exhibition stand construction manager is responsible for the schedule and allocates the necessary number of exhibition stand fitters, exhibition stand construction assistants, and exhibition stand dismantling assistants.
Carpenter
Conventional trade fair construction using wooden structures requires skilled carpenters and joiners.
Decorators
As a rule, the decorators come into play when the exhibition stand is largely complete. Foil graphics and lettering are applied with a squeegee.
